The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) has announced their 2016 award recipients to be conferred at the 2016 Richard S. Berman Memorial Leadership Awards Reception on November 3, 2017, from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
The Society’s highest honor, the George F. Archambault Award, honoring George Archambault, the “father of consultant pharmacy,” is conferred annually in recognition of outstanding contributions to consultant and senior care pharmacy. ASCP is proud to award the 2016 George F. Archambault Award to Judith L. Beizer, PharmD, CGP, FASCP, AGSF.
In the spirit of ASCP’s president emeritus Richard S. Berman, who personified personal devotion to the Society, the Richard S. Berman Service Award is conferred annually to an individual for outstanding service and dedication to ASCP. This award recognizes the contributions made by a dedicated individual who fosters the goals of the Society. ASCP is proud to award the 2016 Richard S. Berman Service Award to Albert R. Barber, PharmD, CGP, FASCP.
The Armon Neel Senior Care Pharmacist Award is given annually to the senior care pharmacy practitioner who consistently embodies the senior care pharmacist and contributes significantly to the goals of ASCP. The award recipient exemplifies the practice of pharmaceutical care to the senior population. ASCP is proud to present the 2016 Armon Neel Senior Care Pharmacist Award to Kristin S. Meyer, PharmD.
The ASCP Hall of Fame Award was established in 1989 to recognize an ASCP Corporate Partner for distinguished service and significant contributions to senior care, long-term care, and consultant pharmacy practice. For 2016, ACADIA Pharmaceuticals Inc. is receiving this honor in recognition of its continued support and dedication to ASCP and consultant pharmacy practice.
The 2016 President’s Awards are being presented to three volunteer leaders who excelled in the following categories: Business: Nancy L. Losben, RPh, CCP, FASCP, CG, Education: Stacey J. Ranucci, RPh, CGP, CDE, and Government Affairs: Blake Griese, PharmD, JD.
The reception, open to all 2016 ASCP Annual Meeting & Exhibition attendees, will also recognize the 2016-2017 ASCP Board of Directors, ASCP Fellows, and 2015-2016 ASCP Board & Committee Members for their service. The Commission for Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy will also present their Excellence in Geriatric Pharmacy Practice Award to Chris Alderman, BPharm, PhD, FSHP, CGP, BCPP, and the ASCP Foundation will confer the Herb Langsam Award for Excellence in Pharmacy Provider Services to Marian James, PharmD, FASCP, BCPS, CGP, of Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center.
