The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) debuted its new website, ASCP.com, featuring an intuitive design allowing users better access to vital information via web or mobile device.
The new site puts senior care pharmacist resources and educational tools up front, giving users vital information with the fewest number of clicks. The new site emphasizes access to information with speed and ease. The new mobile site also reflects that intuitive design, allowing users to easily access information using a smart phone or tablet.
The new website focuses on key topics such as continuing education opportunities. Users looking for best-practice examples and continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit will be interested to note the following key updates:
- ASCP members can now search and easily access information within ASCP’s Practice Resource Centers (ascp.com/PRCs), and ASCP’s new Learning Center (ascp.com/learn), which houses over 50 online courses and more than 100 hours of CPE credit.
- For those interested in Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (CGP) certification or recertification, the Learning Center features 50 hours of CGP exam preparation and over 30 recertification credit hours.
- Members and non-members can access archived webinars, recordings from previous live meetings, and even 8 free on-demand sessions (no CPE) on topics such as building a strong antibiotic stewardship foundation.
- The new catalog is easier than ever to navigate and sort by topic, state requirement, course type, or event format.
In addition, users will encounter an updated, user-friendly landing page for The Consultant Pharmacist, as well as access to the site’s Career Center; information on the latest in advocacy efforts; and access to the latest local, regional, and national meetings and events.
To help users get acclimated to the new site, there are tutorials available at ascp.com/help.
Additionally, ASCP will conduct a live training session on Facebook, Twitter, and the new ASCP website at the 2016 ASCP Annual Meeting & Exhibition in Dallas, Texas. On November 4, 2016, at 4:15 p.m., ASCP will review some of the new social features on ASCP.com, including a news feed where members can post photos, articles, and updates to their fellow ASCP connections. You can learn more about the annual meeting at ascp.com/annual2016.
