Consultant Pharmacist Week, ASCP Website Debut, ASCP Annual Meeting & Exhibition
Alexandria, VA – Mark your calendar for several noteworthy events in October and November. The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) is busy preparing to celebrate Consultant Pharmacist Week the week of October 11-14, and on October 11, ASCP will debut its new website featuring an intuitive design allowing users better access to vital information via web or mobile device. The pace continues in November, and registration is currently open for ASCP’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition to be held November 4-6 in Dallas, Texas.
Consultant Pharmacist Week 2016
The week-long observance of National Consultant Pharmacist Week will be held October 11-14. Thursday, October 13 as been designated Virtual Lobby Day, a coordinated effort of pharmacists to send online messages to their senators and representatives to educate them about the important role pharmacists play in improving the American health care
system.
ASCP Website Redesign
On October 11 ASCP will launch the new ASCP.com. The new site will put senior care pharmacist resources and educational tools up front, giving users vital information with the fewest number of clicks, emphasizing access to information with speed and ease. The new mobile site also reflects that intuitive design, allowing users to easily access information using a smart phone or tablet.
Several important upgrades of note:
- ASCP members can now search and easily access information within ASCP’s Practice Resource Centers (ascp.com/PRCs), and ASCP’s new Learning Center (ascp.com/learning), which houses over 50 online courses and more than 100 hours of continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit.
- For those interested in Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (CGP) certification or recertification, the Learning Center features 50 hours of CGP exam preparation and more than 30 recertification credit hours.
- Members and non-members can access archived webinars, recordings from previous live meetings, and even eight free on-demand sessions (no CPE) on topics such as building a strong antibiotic stewardship foundation.
- The new catalog is easier than ever to navigate and sort by topic, stat requirement, course type, or event format.

ASCP Annual Meeting & Exhibition
There’s still time to register for the 2016 ASCP Annual Meeting & Exhibition to be held November 4-6 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. This event is the largest gathering of consultants and senior care pharmacists in the United States, and it is a unique opportunity to meet experts and influencers face-to-face, and learn new tips and tactics to improve and grow your business.

This conference's educational activities are designed for consultant and dispensing pharmacists who care for older adults. Other health care professionals are encouraged to attend; while ASCP awards only continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit, non-pharmacist attendees may submit CPE to their respective professional boards for consideration.
