The American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) will be looking at “Empowering Seniors to Live Independently” during its 2016 Annual Meeting & Exhibition, to be held November 4-6 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
The first of the Baby Boomer population (those born in 1946) began to turn 70 this year, and as this segment of the population ages, they will have an increasingly larger impact on the medical profession. ASCP’s annual conference looks to tackle these challenges head on, and prepare pharmacists and clinicians for what this means for their practices and businesses.
Conference sessions will include topics such as:
- Drug Diversion in Long-Term Care
- Immunizing the Older Adult
- Drug Selection in Older Patients with Type 2 Diabetes
This conference's educational activities are designed for all pharmacists who care for older adults. Other health care professionals are encouraged to attend; while ASCP awards only continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit, non-pharmacist attendees may submit CPE to their respective professional boards for consideration.
This event is the largest gathering of consultants and senior care pharmacists in the United States, and it is a unique opportunity for attendees to meet experts and influencers face-to-face and learn new tips and tactics to improve and grow their business. Further information about the conference as well as registration information, can be found at annual.ascp.com.
