This month, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) is welcoming new leadership and debuting its 2016-2018 goals and strategic plans.
At the ASCP Annual Meeting & Exhibition in Dallas, Texas, the society conferred its 2016-2017 Board of Directors, committees, councils, and task forces. The society’s new leadership includes:
- Chairman of the Board, Nicki Brandt, PharmD, MBA, BCPP, CGP, FASCP
- President, Joe Marek, RPh, CGP, FASCP
- President-Elect, Chad Worz, PharmD
- Secretary/Treasurer, Joanne Hirschfeld, RPh, MBA, CGP, FASCP
Newly conferred President Marek’s leadership plan is a result of a collaborative effort between the ASCP board of directors, chief executive officer, and ASCP executive staff to meet the principle objectives of the society and its members for this coming year. The plan’s ultimate goal is to empower ASCP members to achieve safe, effective and appropriate medication use for the patients they serve, regardless of employment responsibilities or their practice settings.
As part of the triennial review of the ASCP strategic plan, this past year the board of directors set three strategic priority areas along with goals to guide the society for the next three years:
- Enable Pharmacists to Improve Patient Care
- Maximize Value to Members
- Ensure the Sustainability of the Society
These priority areas are designed to work in concert with the charges assigned to all of the committees, councils, and task forces. To view the society’s strategic plan or leadership plan, please visit ascp.com/whoweare. A full listing of leadership groups can be found at ascp.com/volunteer.
