MEDISCA is proud to announce the launch of the seventh annual Student Pharmacist Compounding Competition (SPCC). It is with great pride and enthusiasm that we continue our commitment to sponsor both the regional and national events.
The SPCC is more than just a competition; it’s an opportunity for participants, both students and faculty alike, to unite in a series of extraordinary academically broadening events. Attendees will be exposed to the uppermost quality in industry standards for professional compounding pharmacy practice. As a result of this enriching and prestigious experience, the proficiency, and integrity of the profession is directly impacted, all the while broadening the superior craftsmanship of today’s pharmacy compounding students as they become tomorrow’s industry leaders and pioneers.
The 2017 SPCC will allow participants to immensely benefit from this highly interactive event, as student pharmacists, faculty members and industry leaders in the compounding field come together to achieve the ultimate goal of increasing awareness, promoting quality compounding and producing highly skilled professionals to meet the ever growing needs of the patient population through pharmaceutical compounding. MEDISCA welcomes all pharmacy students, pharmacy school faculty members and leaders in the compounding field to partake in this initiative which contributes to the advancement and principles of the compounding industry.
In preparation for the 2017 SPCC, regional qualification competitions will be held from October 2016 to January 2017. Students from each participating school will compete in teams at a regional level to determine who will be representing their school at the National level.
The National Student Pharmacist Compounding Competition is scheduled to take place in Aventura, Florida from March 18-19, 2017, in LP3 Network’s new state-of-the-art facility.
This intensive National event will be comprised of diverse and interrelated competition platforms that will include a practical laboratory component, a regulatory component and a quality component requiring competitors to engage in theoretical and practical applications. There will also be engaging discussions from key speakers, networking and social opportunities, as well as a chance for participants to demonstrate their pride and distinction in themselves and their school.
Registrations are still being accepted for the event, but spaces are limited — maximum capacity was reached quickly last year. For more information or to register, please email spcc@medisca.com, visit www.spcc.medisca.com or call 1.866.333.7811.
