New program provides turnkey support to improve patient engagement with med synch and adherence programs.
TCGRx, the industry-leading supplier of pharmacy automation, has launched an all-new marketing program to help pharmacies promote their new adherence program. Pharmacists are being asked to do more with less resources, in a reimbursement environment that is migrating toward patient outcomes. This new model requires more patient interaction and new technology, in order to provide a higher level of service to more customers with less dollars. TCGRx addresses some of these needs by providing adherence packaging technology and now, for the first time, a marketing program to help pharmacies bring on the patients they need, to remain profitable.
10% of all hospital admissions are the result of patients failing to take their medications as prescribed by their physicians, and on average, up to 59% of patients, taking five or more medications, takes them improperly. Adherence programs offered by pharmacies, help customers stick to their mediation regimens and puts them on a consistent refill cycle. This eliminates trips to multiple pharmacies, and helps reduce under- and over-medicating when filling through multiple locations. Reimbursement is now geared toward pharmacies providing this new level of service, which makes it critical that not only pharmacies know what the programs are, but that they are able to communicate this to their patient base to have them make the conversion, from standard vial packaging to the new adherence packaging. This has driven the need for marketing support that TCGRx now offers.
“We found through talking with prospective customers, that many pharmacies simply don’t have the time to develop marketing materials that properly support a new adherence program,” stated Deborah Parker, Director of Marketing for TCGRx. She goes on, “Our customers who have taken advantage of our marketing program, have gained additional business faster, with a staff that was better informed, and better armed, with proper material to convert patients to adherence.
