Powers Lake, WI (PRWEB) November 4, 2016 — TCGRx announced today, at the American Society of Consultant Pharmacy (ASCP) conference in Dallas, Texas, that they have initiated the development of a new pharmacy automation device that will allow for the filling of unit dose and multi-dose cards in addition to the pouch packaging that TCG is already well-known for as the industry leader. The device, known as “PillBot™”, is scheduled to be released in 2017, with the ability to package medications in both pouch and blister formats. TCGRx’s intention is to launch the first version of this product to handle unit dose and multi-dose pouches, along with unit dose cards. A second release will follow, allowing the same machine to also process multi-dose cards.
TCGRx’s president and CEO, Duane Chudy, stated, “the market is constantly evolving for our pharmacy partners. They need flexibility to provide packaging options that will gain and retain business without the need to invest in multiple automation devices. Our vision is two-fold; we want to provide best-in-class automation and services for everything that a pharmacy needs to fill medications. We also want to make sure that our pharmacy partners can thrive in an ever-changing market.”
