90-Day Fills Simplified With Kirby Lester's KL30 Dispensing & Verification System
Lake Forest, IL (May 23, 2012) – Kirby Lester, LLC, the world's leading pharmacy automation provider, announced its KL30 dispensing and verification system now simplifies a retail/outpatient pharmacy’s processing of 90-day prescription filling.
With a recent software update, Kirby Lester’s KL30 provides the perfect solution to automate high-volume maintenance medications – even challenging tablets such as metformin and potassium chloride.
“Dispensing 270 or 360 ‘horse pills’ at one time can be a time-sapping, mind-numbing effort,” says Jeff Papo, RPh and owner of Tuminaro Pharmacy, Hopewell Junction, NY. “The old-fashioned counting tray can’t accommodate a large quantity of tablets, not to mention how inaccurate and tedious hand-counting can be. The KL30 includes 30 (or more) fast, always-accurate cassettes to automate frequently dispensed medications. High-volume cassettes are available to streamline dispensing for physically large tablets. All medications dispensed via cassette on the KL30 benefit from a unique double-count process, ensuring absolute accuracy.
Finally, the KL30 advises the technician of the correct vial size to choose for each prescription. This eliminates the guesswork of choosing the right vial for a 90-day fill. Therefore, the KL30 is used to dispense and verify all daily prescriptions, 90-day fills and employee prescriptions.
