Drug diversion platform first to include a risk rating algorithm based on applied intelligence

ST. LOUIS, August 23, 2022 – ANiGENT, a pioneer in drug diversion prevention at hospitals, announced the release of an advanced rating algorithm that combines human intelligence and validated data with artificial intelligence (AI) and automation to uncover a facility’s concern on drug theft and addiction. ANiGENT is the first to incorporate applied intelligence into its predictive behavior model.

“On average, a hospital may experience more than 300,000 different combinations of medication management,” said Charles D’Amato, RPh, ANiGENT’s chief product officer. “Traditional report-based systems are unable to track this amount of data. Most inventory software products also are not built to uniquely understand how medications are processed through a clinical environment. The risk rating algorithm is the first in our industry to incorporate applied intelligence, enabling hospitals to quickly hone-in on potential drug diversion or practice error.”

First used in Fortune 500 companies, applied intelligence is an efficient way to scale up AI to solve complex problems. By combining human intelligence with analytics and automation, it empowers hospitals to control and monitor the large amounts of data they’ve collected but unable to analyze.

MAAP Analytics® is a comprehensive, patent-pending drug diversion prevention platform designed to leverage the power of human intelligence and AI to predict when and where medication or practice issues could occur.  The new release is another demonstration of why MAAP Analytics is now included in more than 80 healthcare facilities in the US. Its advanced risk rating algorithm is capable of:

Predicting potential diversion or practice error behavior with near 100% accuracy

Detecting anomalies in any clinical floor or department

Identifying variables, such as the time it takes to administer a medication and wasting

Incorporating difficult-to-track medications, such as compounded infusions

The advanced risk rating algorithm is only available through MAAP Analytics. Along with implementation, facilities receive 24/7 monitoring and support to ensure without extra hours from the informatics teams.
