As a full time, exempt CPS Solutions, LLC Assistant Director of Pharmacy, you will assist the Director of Pharmacy in overseeing pharmacy operations including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to the Director of Pharmacy and carry out mutually agreed upon programs with assistance from a full support team.  In addition, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.  As the Assistant Director of Pharmacy, you will also provide oversite to and management of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.


Schedule:  This position is scheduled to work at least 40 hours per week, primarily Monday-Friday between 8am and 6pm with shared on call when the pharmacy is closed. This position may occasionally provide time off coverage on the weekends.


About the Facility:  Prairie St. John's is a fully licensed and accredited facility 110-inpatient bed psychiatric hospital facility offering services for children, adolescents and adults to address mental health issues, substance use addiction or co-occurring disorders.  Prairie St. John’s offers a full psychiatric and addiction continuum of care. This continuum of care includes inpatient hospitalization, Partial Hospitalization (day treatment), residential treatment, intensive outpatient services.   While many patients are from the Fargo, North Dakota, Moorhead, Minnesota, and surrounding areas, we also serve individuals and their families from throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and other states. CPS® has partnered with the hospital to manage the day to day operations of this pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions, LLC.


About the Pharmacy:  The centralized pharmacy is currently open weekdays from 8am to 6pm with and 8a-2p on weekends. Pharmacy systems include HCS with an Omnicell go live in January of 2023 including CPOE and EMAR.


Required Qualifications: 

• BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy

• North Dakota Pharmacist licensure in good standing

• At least 2 years recent work experience as a Pharmacist (in a behavioral health setting preferred)

• Recent management experience in a healthcare/hospital environment preferred

• Ability to solve problems, establish trust and credibility.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to client concerns, and work cooperatively with other staff.


Hospital Requirements: (may be required)

• (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months

• (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity

• Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving

• Hep B3 Series (or declination) 

• (Flu) Influenza-required for hire between Oct 1st-April 30th  

• COVID Vaccine-Full (required)
