Preceptor Recognitions

Preceptor Recognitions Thank You Preceptors! 24 SPRING 2014 I Ret aIl/CommuNIty • S PeCIalty • ltC The Roosevelt University College of Pharmacy would like to take this opportunity to recognize the growing number of independent pharmacists who have become preceptors for our students. Independent pharmacies provide unique experiences to students that the larger chain pharmacies cannot match. They have the flexibility to adapt to the needs of the patients in their particular neighborhood, and to offer the products and services most useful to the area in which they operate. Independent pharmacists can focus on a particular area of interest, such as compounding, pet medications or the treatment of migraine headaches. Often, an independent pharmacist has the ability to put more focus on counseling and MTM. For all of these reasons, Roosevelt University has worked to cultivate relationships with independent pharmacists, and we encourage our students to actively seek out rotations at neighborhood pharmacies. Often, they report that they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned so much more than they thought possible. Therefore, thank you to our independent pharmacist partners for giving our students a glimpse of their world and showing them another aspect of retail pharmacy. If you are a pharmacist interested in becoming a RUCOP preceptor for introductory and advanced experiential education, please contact: Joan Hardman, BPharm, RPh | Director of Experiential Education (847)330-4508 | jhardman02@roosevelt.edu www.roosevelt.edu/pharmacy Dr. George MacKinnon The following colleges and organizations would like to acknowledge & thank the following preceptors for their hard work and dedication.
